Tour facts
Highlights
- Check in at 'Komani Boat Terminal' which is next to Koman Tunnel
- Scenic speedboat trip in Komani Lake and Shala River
- Free time in Shala River to swim, lunch , kayak, hike , zipline, etc
- Return to the start point 'Komani Boat Terminal'
Lake Koman is the Drin held back by a dam, a reservoir so narrow between its forested walls that the boat trips here are compared with fjords. The speedboat covers it faster than the ferry and turns into the Shala River, a tributary with no road, where the water is shallow, turquoise and clear and the guesthouses line the bank.
The free time on the river is the point of the day: swimming, lunch, kayaks, short hikes and a zipline are all on the spot. The price covers the speedboat there and back and the life jackets; getting to Koman is up to you, or see our day trips from Shkodër and the private transfer from Tirana.
