Ten days that take in both countries at a walking pace: Lake Ohrid and its monasteries, Korça and Voskopoja, the thermal springs of Përmet, Apollonia and the Vlorë coast, Berat, Kruja, Shkodër and the Komani Lake boat, ending in Tirana. The route runs clockwise from Tirana Airport. The first two nights are on Lake Ohrid, at Pogradec, with a day across the border to St Naum monastery, the Bay of Bones, Ohrid's old town, St Sophia and the Hellenistic theatre, and Lin village on the Albanian shore. Day three turns south through Korça and its new bazaar, Voskopoja's St Nicholas church and a farmhouse lunch, to the thermal springs, the Katoi bridge and the Lengarica canyon at Përmet. Then the coast: the ancient city of Apollonia, Zvërnec monastery and Vlorë's seafront, with a boat day to Sazan island, the Karaburun peninsula and the Haxhi Ali pirate cave.
The second half is the north: Berat, on the UNESCO list, with its castle, Mangalem, Gorica and the Onufri icon museum; Kruja's bazaar, castle and Skanderbeg museum with lunch at the Mrizi i Zanave agritourism; two nights in Shkodër with the Komani Lake boat on day eight; and a last day in Tirana, Skanderbeg Square, the Pyramid, the mosque, the cathedrals and Blloku, before the airport. Breakfast and dinner every day, the listed museum entries and both boat trips are included; lunches are free choice.

What does half board mean here?
Nine breakfasts and nine dinners at the hotels. Lunches are not included, so you choose where to eat on the road; day three includes a farmhouse lunch and day seven a lunch at the Mrizi i Zanave agritourism as part of the visits.
Do I need a visa or a second passport check for North Macedonia?
The tour crosses the Albania–North Macedonia border on days one to two around Lake Ohrid; bring your passport. Entry rules depend on your nationality, so check them for both countries before you travel.

Where does it start and end?
Pickup at Tirana International Airport on day one and drop-off at the airport on day ten. The first night is at Pogradec on Lake Ohrid, the last in Tirana.
How much driving is there?
It is a touring itinerary that changes hotel most days: Pogradec, Përmet, Vlorë, Berat, Shkodër and Tirana, with the longest legs between the lake and Përmet and from Përmet to the coast. All transfers are in an air-conditioned vehicle.
